Periodic Electrical Inspections
Electrical fix wiring installation testing of installations is necessary as they deteriorate with age. This is due to a number of factors such as damage, wear and tear, corrosion, excessive electrical loading and environmental influences.
Electricity can be an invisible danger that can cause shocks, severe burns, and death, as well as property damage from fires and explosions. In some cases, there is no warning of the danger to come. With a proper electrical testing service offering electrical periodic testing and inspection, you can protect yourself and your property.
Primarily we offer two levels of electrical fix wiring installation testing: Periodic Electrical Inspection, Test & Certification Report; and Routine Electrical Inspection
The periodic electrical inspection of the fixed wiring installation test & certification is the industry standard - to BS7671.
The routine electrical inspection to your fixed wiring installation is an intermediate measure that contains some testing but is not as thorough as the electrical periodic test. This can be used between electrical periodic inspections to monitor for deterioration, or where the fuller electrical testing and inspection was not felt necessary.
By law you must take precautions against the risk of death or personal injury from electricity in work activities (Electricity at Work Regulations 1989). Neglecting faulty electrical systems could result in injuries to your employees, lost income and fines if found in breach of your statutory responsibilities for electrical periodic testing. In some instances it may even invalidate your insurance claims.
There are maximum periods allowed between electrical periodic testing that determines how often the electrical fixed wiring installation test needs to be carried out. These periods are further explained in our section for electrical periodic testing.
